Fans of Fall Guys are wary of the possibility of playing Battle Pass progression ...

This past week, Fall Guys relaunched as a free-to-play game and tweaked the party game''s monetization and progression policies. Despite its seasonal contest pass, Fall Guys has added daily, weekly, and long-term Challenges to encourage players to get started daily. However, Fall Guys players are becoming increasingly frustrated with the new progression techniques, even though they are discovering that in some instances it''s more beneficial to lose matches than to try and win.

The danger posed by the fact that Fall Guys'' battle pass progression is now built around its daily and weekly challenges, while standard progression has been nerfed into the ground. Those things, for example, are that complete a daily or weekly Challenge can help players progress one or multiple levels through the battle pass. However, if Fall Guys players don''t complete a Challenge or have already completed their Challenges, then they get a trickle of progression.

One user on Reddit emphasized how little battle pass progression Fall Guys players earn under the new free-to-play system. The user held_my_cocoa explained how much they earned in a match if they lost in the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth rounds, as well as when they won a crown.

Regardless of how players earn points, whether it be 120 or 107 or less, progression is astonishingly slow. If going from level 10 to level 11, players must win a crown five times to gain a single level. Alternatively, there are 21 losses in the first round at 24 points apiece.

It''s easy to see what Fall Guys is trying to do, of course. While playing for extended periods of time does not, the game''s goal is to encourage players to return every day, even if it''s only for one or two hours. Fall Guys isn''t rewarding them.

Although Fall Guys'' new progression methods will be reviewed, it''s not clear if modifications are made. At this time, regular updates addressing feedback for a live service game are common, but there are no indications of change. Even if the system is "broken," changes may not be made. Only time will tell.

Fall Guys is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
