In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the Ruby Wirebug mimics the Wyvern Riding technique on a creature. While it is available on your character, these bonuses stay with you for a brief time.
What a Ruby Wirebug does
While your hunter has a Ruby Wirebug, they will have greater damage if you land a Mounted Punisher against a monster. With the Wyvern Riding technique, you may initiate Wyvern Riding against a target, and your Wirebug gauge is recovering faster.
While riding a monster, the Ruby Wirebug will remain in force on your character for a short time. You can confirm that the distinct red glow surrounding your character is still showing, and the threads of the Wirebug will be red.
Before you begin a hunt, you must ensure you can find the Ruby or Gold Wirebug in your region. The Gold Wirebug may be a better option at the beginning of a hunt to mitigate the most damage early. In contrast, the Gold Wirebug may be better near the end of a encounter to increase the amount of materials that has been dropped from a creature. Both Wirebug variations have several benefits, and it is highly encouraged.
So long as you have the Sunbreak effect, you can find Ruby Wirebugs in all of the previous Monster Hunter Rise locations.
