Blunt damage is the way to go for Carapaceon like Shogun Ceanataur, so Hammers and Hunting Horns get ready. Blunt users should focus on the Shell and the Claws, and allow those who have Cutting weapons to concentrate on the Head and Legs. Bowguns should aim for the Head and the Legs.

MHR Sunbreak: Shogun Ceanataur Status resistances and ailment effectiveness

Zero stars make it immune to that discomfort, while three stars make it extremely effective against the monster. Blast, based on Shogun Ceanataur, is significant to use, along with finding and throwing a Firebeetle and Thunderbeetle to inflict Fireblight (constant damage) and Thunderblight (more likely to stun.) at the Carapaceon monster. Although all other ailments will work against this foe, the time it takes to come to effect is not worth
