We still don't know the Sonic Frontiers release date, but we now know two key facts about the first Sonic the Hedgehog open-world game. A Sonic Frontiers fishing minigame is on the way, and Big the Cat is leading it. It's a game of the year contender right now.
If there's one thing Sonicplatform fans persistently displeasure, its that there hasn't been a fishing minigame in the games since 1998s Sonic Adventure. The poor fisherman Big the Cat hasn't been in the series yet since 2003s Sonic Heroes, which featured a sluggish lack of fishing.
Well, that's apparently going to change, as the latest issue of Game Informer confirms that out of all, Big the Cat and his frog pal Froggy feature in Sonic Frontiers, but there's also a fishing minigame. According to the article, seen by (sigh) @regularpanties on Twitter,
The player may pay for Portal Gear fragments, voice diaries, Vault Keys, and even sequence items like Amys heart collectible through fishing fish. This appears to be worthwhile undertaking.
You cant fishanytime, however, there are a few purple coins around the Starfall Islands that you can give to Big to help you launch future fishing missions. Who knew that Big the Cat was a capitalist?
