This Month in Italy, 'Dune: Part Two' is set to be released ...

With Dune's critical acclaim and financial success in 2021, it came as no surprise that the production of the second film, which will be based on Frank Herbert's second half, would begin immediately. According to Deadline, now production will begin in Italy.

The film's pre-shooting will begin in Altivole, Italy, with filming planned for the Brion Tomb designed by Carlo Scarpa. Primary production with the cast members of Dune: Part Two will begin later this month in Budapest, Hungary, on July 21. Denis Villeneuve will serve as the film's director.

The opening roles of a third film, Dune: Dune: Part Two, will include actor Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atriedes, with Zendaya, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, and Stellan Skarsgard as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen. Alongside the opening roles, it was previously reported that Austin Butler, who previously played in Elvis, was in discussions to play Feyd-Rautha with Florence Pugh (Black Widow) as Princess Irulan Corrin

Dune became a financial success at the worldwide box office despite being simultaneously available for HBO Max viewers. The film would earn an 83% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes with a 90% audience rating. The film's acclaim for the film would result in several awards, including six Academy Awards and five BAFTA awards.

Alongside the production of a sequel, a television series centered on the Bene Gesserit titled Dune: The Sisterhood is in development. The first part of Dune: Part two was then set for an October 2023 release date before being scheduled for November 17, 2023. With production shortly underway, it will not be long until audiences return to Arrakis when the film will release next year.

Part Two of Dune: Part Two will be released on November 17, 2023. Chalamet, Zendaya, Ferguson, Bardem, Walken, and Seydoux will be directed by Villeneuve, with composer Hans Zimmer returning to score the film's music.
