In the next sequel to Mission: Impossible 7, Christopher McQuarrie has just given fans a sneak peek at Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt.

On Sunday (July 3), the filmmaker celebrated Cruise's 60th birthday with a behind-the-scenes photo of him performing a stunt for the film. Cruise can be seen wearing a harness as he hangs from a flying plane overlooking the countryside.

Tom, Happy 60th Birthday, commented McQuarrie, who was rated his post as well as by 19k users when it came to writing.

After directing the previous two missions, Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation and Fallout, McQuarrie once again took the stage.

The next Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning will be divided into two chapters, which will be released one year apart.

Cruise is accompanied by a star-studded cast, including Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, and Rebecca Ferguson of The Crown, who all appeared in previous installments.

For the first time since the 1996 film, Henry Czerny reprises the role of Eugene Kittridge, a former IMF director.

As well as Sherlock's Mark Gatiss and Game of Thrones, Obi-Wan Kenobi's Indira Varma, Dead Reckoning also features new faces.

The two Dead Reckoning volumes may be the last in the saga, as previously stated, they are a "culmination" of the franchise, but no official statement has been made on whether Cruise would be no longer the franchise as Hunt.

Part one of Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning has a scheduled release date of July 14, 2023. Part Two will be available on June 28, 2024.
