TJ Lavin, a long-time host of The Challenge, has recently talked about who he thinks the greatest player of all time, ranging from Johnny Bananas to Chris CT Tamburello.
Both reality TV personalities have been a part of the franchise since the mid-2000s, and have earned several titles and awards. All in all, Bananas has earned the most trophies out of any Challenger ever, with seven, while CT has won on five occasions.
When Heavys Stephen McCaugherty talked with TJ about The Challenge: USA, he asked the host for his thoughts on the Bananas vs. CT debate.
TJ breaks down:
Well, Bananas is for sure (the greatest) because you cant argue with the numbers, according to TJ.
He has more money and more championships. Hes also won more. That's the fact that everyone would win on a Challenge if they were together and they were fighting it out. I think CT might get him.
Bananas is the greatest of all time. No doubt about it. Who is a better Challenger in today's day and age? I think it might be CT. He might, however, get him. That's why, who knows? It's something that I'd love to see.
Bananas competed on a show during his career in 2020. The first time the original series has been broadcast, and CT has won the championship every time, crossing the finish line first during Double Agents and Spies, Lies & Allies.

TJ said It's a True Dream That CBS Will Release The Challenge
The Challenge: The USA will premiere on CBS on July 6 and it will feature a brand-new slew of players in search of reality television competition glory. This is the first time The Challenge will have a spinoff on CBS, one of the world's largest broadcasters.
The Challenge's host said it was a dream come true when TJ was asked about it.
TJ said: Dream come true. I mean, we really couldnt believe it. I still cant believe it. I hope it will be true. It's so scary. Like, it's like a dream.
It's strange how high the levels that were at and were going to, and it's utterly insane. It's really about it. And im very excited for people to see The Challenge that never knew what it is. For them to be part of it and now include them in the fold is astounding.
Contestants from four different unscripted CBS shows will be gathered in the USA: Survivor, Big Brother, The Amazing Race, and Love Island.
TJ was always ready for the Challenge to be postponed until around 5 years later.
TJ previously said that, until five years ago, he would be unable to cancel the show anytime soon.
TJ said about having a so successful career as a reality TV host. I was just a BMX dude from Vegas, just a desert rat doing my thing. And then I just got into this, literally fell into it. Now we are 17 years later.
I just cant believe it, man. I truly cant. It's insane to me.
Justin Booth, the show's executive producer, said that he basically made The Challenge what it is today. Despite his remarks a few years back, Booth wasn't even sure if the show would make it.
I was like, I've got another season. Every season hed be like, Yeah, I dont know how much longer it will last. He always sets you up for the big failure, but then it just never came. We just continued going.
Dude, another one? Hes like, yeah, no, five. Oh my God, they ordered five. Were like, how are we going to do all that? So we just do it, put our head down and do it.
And then here we are. And it's crazy. It's just really, really lucky.
