A new behind-the-scenes photo from Season 12 of Call the Midwife has been released.
During a filming break, the BBC show's official Facebook page shared a photo of the three young Turner children, Angela, May, and Edward, and confirmed that they are well into production for season 12, which will premiere in 2023.
"How are we doing?" the post read. "We will finish filming the last half of our stories when we return from our summer break." Call the Midwife is a four-season job!
"In the meantime, we thought we'd take an on-set photo of our young Turner children... who are all looking quite end-of-term crazy!!"
Call the Midwife will return for a Christmas special in 2023, according to the organization.
Stephen McGann suggested to Digital Spy and other media in January 2022 that the program might extend the story further.
"The most general thing I can say about that is, we're all very pleased with where it's going," he said. "Historically, we've always said that it has a natural, general timeline.
"It won't go on forever, because it wouldn't go on forever." If you stick to a level of historical accuracy, it won't go on in that form forever, because it didn't back then. So therefore, it has some sort of end mark."
