According to series creator Corinne Kingsbury, Season 4 of The CWs in the Dark will provide loyal fans with a satisfying end.

Murphy Mason (played by Perry Mattfeld) rose from a lazy receptionist to a drug dealer and a woman-on-the-run. In Season 4, she has worked closely with her ex, Max (Casey Deidrick), her best friend Felix (Morgan Krantz) and her sister Lesley (Marianne Rendon) to keep herself out of jail for her assorted crimes.

Theodore Bhat, a Chicago PD consultant (and Murphys ex-fling) doubled down on his obsession with her, working with two detectives to bring Murphy back to life.

Tensions escalate in the next episode of the series, which airs on Monday, August 1, when Murphys intentions hit a roadblock, just as Joshs vendetta blossoms with the help of a new friend.

The 12th episode of the series, which will air on Sept. 5, may be bleak as things may be looking for Murphy, Pretzel, and others.

I think fans will be ecstatic with our Kingsbury adventures due to this thought, and as one might expect. It seems to me to be perfect.

In the Dark's summer/early fall averaged 365,000 total viewers and a 0.06 demo rating (in Live+Same Day numbers), down 14 and 25 percent from its sophomore run, and its farewell run so far is averaging 280K and a 0.4.

In the Dark was but one of seven (!) series that had been cancelled by The CW, most likely due to the networks' rumored sale (perhaps to the Nexstar affiliate group) and a bleak future.
