HBO's Maxs Gordita Chronicles will not have another season; the streamer has ended the family comedy after only one season, according to our sister website Deadline.
Gordita Chronicles followed a Dominican settlers who moved to Miami in 1985, with Eva Longoria and Zoe Saldana serving as showrunner. Claudia Forestieri (Good Trouble) directed the series, which ran until June, which saw all ten episodes air at the same time.
The move is part of a larger shift away from live-action family programming at HBO Max, which will no longer be a focus on our programming agenda in the near future, according to a spokesperson, and as a result, we have had to make the very difficult decision to put an end to the Gordita Chronicles at HBO Max.
Longoria and Saldana have made their own comments. HBO Max is under pressure to halt the possibility for our special series, isGordita Chronicles, produced by LatinX comedy sensation Brigitte Munoz-Liebowitz, to have a second season at its original location. We are so blessed to have worked on this piece of magic.
