The female protagonist in Grand Theft Auto 6 is said to be playable ...

It has been announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will have a female protagonist.

Jason Schreier, known for numerous gaming scoops over the years, has announced that the next entry in the pyramid will be headed by a Latina woman who is part of a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired bank robber group.

As the early top-down versions had them, this character will not be the first playable female protagonist in GTA history, but GTA VI will be the first time that a prominent female character will have a real personality.

The new game will reportedly be set in a fictionalized version of Miami, with more interior locations than any previous game in the series. More cities are expected to follow in post-release updates in order to reduce the need for employee overtime at studio Rockstar.

Following the removal of inappropriate comments in current-gen re-releases of GTA V, the developer's policies have not changed much.

Following a debate over the workplace environment in 2018, the publication further states that "morale has never been higher."

Despite the fact that GTA VI development may take longer than expected, it's unclear why the game's tone is being hampered, and the difficulty in attempting to recreate the breadth of today's world.

Rockstar has announced that GTA VI is being ramped up to the detriment of Red Dead Online, and while some people interviewed by Bloomberg believe the game will be released in two years, others aren't quite sure.

Grand Theft Auto V was recently re-released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
