Cardboard Computer confirmed Thursday that it will work with Annapurna Interactive again for its next game. During the Annapurnas showcase event Thursday, the trio of developers Jake Elliott, Tamas Kemenczy, and Ben Babbitt revealed that they are working on a new game with the publisher.
Cardboard Computer did not reveal much about the new project, not even a name. However, the developers touched on how Kentucky Route Zero will differ from its predecessor. It does use those limitations to great effect. The next game, however, will be as fully animated as a threeperson team can manage.
It will move at a different pace, faster, and funnier. Currently, the team said, performance is a top focus right now.
Annapurna Interactive spotlighted a few other development teams during the showcase, including Yarn Owl, led by Fabian Willis and Chris Hofmann, and Third Shift, a team working on an elderly lady's road trip game. Dreamfeel is working on a new game where everyone plays a cat.
