The McDonald's Pokemon TCG set has been confirmed; fans are confused ...

A new photo of the new McDonalds Pokemon TCG set has been released, confirming the 15 reprints that will be included in the collection.

McDonalds Pokemon promotion will run from August 9 to September 26 and is sure to spawn a bit of havoc like last year. The first two coins and toys will have one of the following Pokemon:

  • Growlithe

The McDonalds promotion last year was a bit chaotic. Realizing the hype surrounding the card game at the time, scalpers rushed to the McDonalds near them to buy as many Happy Meals as possible, many of whom were stuffed their cars with food. This increased the price of the McDonalds cards even further, causing frustration and scrambling all over North America.

This might happen again this year, although the interest in the Pokemon TCG has faded somewhat. McDonalds has also limited how many Happy Meals may be purchased, and the Pokemon cards cannot be purchased separately.

OnPokebeach, players and collectors said they were confused by the card selection. Some believed the cards were all low-value, and many were not playable. It made some Pokemon fans nostalgic for their childhood when McDonalds offered colorful Pokemon figures instead of cards.
