Manusco told the publication that he is looking forward to working with Camila Mendes on the project: "I'm beyond thrilled to have Camila's wildly gifted intellect join this special journey of Musica, where we're telling an authentic Brazilian-American story through the eyes of a synesthete."
"We're so happy to collaborate with Cami, both in front of the camera and behind the camera, because she is one of the finest actresses of her generation," according to producer Mary Viola.
Mendes is scheduled to star in a new film Do Revenge alongside Maya Hawke from Stranger Things and Sophie Turner from Game of Thrones.
Mendes plays Drea, a high school student, and Hawke plays Eleanor in this "delectable dark comedy."
