Helen Hunt and stars from This Is Us team up for a new project ...

Susan Kelechi Watson and Mark McKinney of Superstore will join Helen Hunt on stage in Jonathan Spector's comedy Eureka Day.

Ben Schnetzer and Kirsten Foster, who previously starred in the West End's Life of Pi production, will join them for the UK premiere of the play.

Eureka Day "centers around the 'Executive Committee' of parents at Eureka Day School, and asks what happens when such a group must reach a consensus on a highly divisive topic".

After an outbreak of mumps, the debate over whether or not vaccinations should be required for pupils at the school. Spector wrote the play long before the Covid-19 epidemic.

Helen Hunt's UK stage debut will be performed by Eureka Day this autumn at The Old Vic, which is a member of the parents''Executive Committee, and their children attend the progressive school.

Jonathan Spector told The Old Vic that he was inspired to compose the play after discovering some of his "well-educated" acquaintances who "had the same politics and values" as him.

"I was moved by the idea that we might all share the exact same world view, but in this particular region, we seemed to live in different realities."

Eureka Day tickets may be purchased now from Love Theatre, London Theatre Direct, and The Box Office, starting at 23.20. The production will run from September 6 to October 31, with some preview performances. On October 11, accessible performances are available with audio description, and October 14 with captions.
