Stranger Things Nearly Missed Out on Hiring Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield

Stranger Things Nearly Missed Out on Hiring Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield ...

It's hard to believe that fans are already a month from the fourth season of Stranger Things. It was an epic season filled with visually stunning horror, great character moments, and heartfelt themes. Sequel to Season 4's greatest joy was Sadie Sink's performance as Max Mayfield. However, the creative team was not always sure that Sink was the right fit for the character.

Sink revealed that the casting directors were hesitant to choose her because they thought she was too old for the role. Even though she was only 14 at the time, she pleaded with the producers to give me more material so I could demonstrate something fresh." Then, the producers gave her a chemistry exam with future co-stars Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, and the rest, as they say, is history.

It's hard to imagine anyone else in the role of Max, especially after Sink's amazing performance this past season. It's also a nice tale of an actress proving herself and trusting her gut. Since Max's introduction in Season 2, Sink has effortlessly demonstrated her remarkable emotional range as an actor on the show.

Sink's contribution to Max was simply jaw dropping, particularly in this fourth season. She used that song to explore Max's flaws and how powerful humanity can be in our darkest moments. Sink has become a horror icon in particular once you get to Max's final moments in Season 4.

Sink is on her way to becoming one of the most popular names in Hollywood, thanks to Stranger Things' final four seasons.
