In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, how do I perform art combos? ...

Combat is at the heart of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, as with all games in the series. Your foes will be plentiful and everyone knows how to fight. One of the most essential weapons to combat in this third Xenoblade is Art Combos. Art Combos will allow you to combine multiple abilities to deal more damage at a faster rate. Here is how to perform Art Combos in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, what are art combos?

In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you land certain Arts one after the other in a set order. For example, a particular Art that inflicts Break can then be followed by one that inflicts Daze; these Arts on their own do damage but nothing else. When chained together, the Break attack will reduce the enemy's defenses, then the Topple attack will allow the enemy to retreat for a few seconds.

Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple to perform these combos. You can start the combo with an Art that has a status. Then, you can chain other Arts on top of the first one and create different combinations. Some combos stun lock enemies, while others throw enemies up in the air only to be slammed back down again.

These Art Combos may be performed manually or automatically with your party. Start the combo with your character, and your party will try and perform their Arts in a way to combo with yours. If you prefer a more hands on approach, start the combo with one character and switch to the next to continue the combo with the next Art.

In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, art combos are at the forefront of the combat loop, and you should always be attempting to exploit them in an attempt to turn the tides. Practice makes perfect, and by the end of the game Art Combos will be second nature.
