The majority of players in Animal Crossing: New Horizons find time with villagers to be enjoyable. While there's nothing stopping players from intentionally avoiding villagers, they'll usually form a town full of interesting and unusual animals and develop friendships with them.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is quite hospitable to the player who is conversing with him, with the exception of a few rare exceptions. Some may even wave the player down to have a chat, like when teaching an emote in New Horizons. However, it isn't always the easiest thing to have a conversation with the generally friendly island inhabitants, as one player discovered.
Simpilyjustkaleb, a redditor, posted an interesting clip showing them attempting to pay a villager's house in their town. Typically, a villager can simply knock on the door and come in for a visit. However, the blinds are too late and the player is instead greeted with the message that Molly isn't home.
Molly abruptly steps out, removing the player from her path, according to some. She may be cleaning up her house immediately after her departure, as she does not want anyone to enter until it's done.
Molly was just following her own rules, and the timing was perfect to turn into this funny encounter. It's funny, but also irritating to be shut out as they arrive in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available on Nintendo Switch.
