Leaks pertaining to new Pokemon games are shared daily and are often fake, as Pokemon fans are likely to be familiar with. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are no different in this regard. There are also fake leaks relating to new Pokemon, gameplay features, and especially regarding Pokemon evolutions. Sometimes these leaks are correct, though.
Nintendo conducted a special Pokemon Presents event this past week that featured announcements for several Pokemon games. The day before the Pokemon Presents event, a post on 4Chan went up with a wide array of information about what would be included in the event. Many dismissed it as a fake at the time, but it has now proven to be entirely true.
The 4Chan article states that the Pokemon Presents presentation will be 19 minutes long, and half of it will be dedicated to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This is correct, since the leaker had access to the video before it was released. Names include the region's Paldea name, NPCs including Clavell, Penny, Arven, and Jackq. Each of the new Pokemon is mentioned, including Fidough, Cetitan, and Paldean Wooper.
The reason for the leaker to have access to the Pokemon Presents video early isn't exactly clear, although it's unlikely that it's unexpected. These videos can be shared early with partners, or there are the employees directly handling the presentation itself. It's happened before.
What makes the leak so funny is that few people believed it was accurate when it was first shared. Moreover, since 4Chan is anonymous, there is no way to predict whether or not this person will ever disclose more information in the future. Many will claim to be the notorious Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaker, only to reveal untrue information. It's all for fun.
It only goes to demonstrate that among the dozens of leaks surrounding Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, or any Pokemon game for that matter, there are often very real ones. That's why Pokemon enthusiasts love to follow leak stories surrounding the franchise so closely. Who knows, the Fuecoco evolution secret art leak could be real.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be available on Nintendo Switch on November 18.
