The Banshees of Inisherin, Martin McDonagh's Oscar-nominated 2017 crime drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, returns to Ireland following his brief hiatus in the American heartland in the first trailer.

Colin Farrell will play Padraic, an affable and kind guy who returns home unexpectedly when Colms (Brendan Gleeson) chooses to break their friendship, sending shockwaves throughout the close-knit community, prompting everyone from Padraic's sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon) to the town priest to investigate the source of Colms' rage.

The movie's tone should be familiar to any fan of McDonagh's work: tragically funny and darkly humorous, bursting with colorful dialogue and succinctly memorable quips. Ben Davis and Carter Burwell return to contribute the film's soundtrack and filmography for McDonagh's latest film.

The Banshees of Inisherin will be released in cinemas on October 21.
