In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, How To Unlock All Rare Blades

In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, How To Unlock All Rare Blades ...

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 introduces the concept of Blades, fighters who will assist you in battling adversaries by granting you access to elements and techniques when using Core Crystals. Rare Blades are unique and have more abilities than generic Blades, but they are harder to find in other circumstances.

During the game, you will encounter a number of Rare Blades, but others will take some time to discover. It's no small task, but it will pay off when you have a solid roster. If you're not sure how to obtain any of the Rare Blades, this list will walk you through the process.

This list may contain spoilers, so proceed at your own risk.

All Rare Blades Obtained In The Story

Pyra will be the first Rare Blade that you obtain, and she will naturally join your party in Chapter 1. She will be your first introduction to combat, as well as learning how to make your Blades more powerful.

Pyra will be stuck with you for a while until you master the art of Core Crystals, which allows you to add more Blades to your party. Even then, her abilities and utility will continue to be useful throughout the game.

During the events of Chapter 2, Dromarch will join your party along with Nia as his Driver. While he will saunter for a while, he will eventually join your party as one of the main characters.

Dromarch will be your first encounter with a Blades utility, as he specializes in healing rather than offense. He is still a powerful fighter, and you will be able to work with many different Blade roles in combat.

Poppi is an artificial Blade that Tora has obtained in Chapter 2, when she wants to assist you with your mission. She will join your team as its second Blade until she rescues Nia and Dromarch.

Poppis will help you create the solid early-game Blade combo of Attacker-Healer-Tank in the Tiger! Tiger! minigame. She will take a lot of effort to build her, but she will be a powerful partner when you invest in her.

During the events of Chapter 3, Mythra will be obtained. She does not enter your party per se, but will be able to swap places with Pyra in combat, giving Rex access to two Blades in one slot.

Mythra will be your first chance to obtain the rare Light element in Chain Attacks, and you'll learn how to use her and Pyra together for devastating effects.

After the events of Chapter 3, you will acquire Rocs Core Crystal. It is not until Chapter 4 that you will be able to use it, since you will need Rocs' assistance in overcoming an obstacle.

This will be the first story event to demonstrate how Blades may be used to access new areas, reveal new paths, or locate items.

After learning how to use it, Poppi QT will be introduced in the second half of Chapter 4. It is an exciting new form of Poppi and will be included to the Toras Blade line-up.

Tora will have more utility and elements open to Poppi QT, although you will also need to play Tiger! Tiger! to get the most out of Poppi QT.

Brighid will not be formally joined your party until Chapter 5 because she will not meet her Driver Morag. She will join your party as well as Brighid.

Brighid will not necessarily add anything new to the game in terms of utility, as you already have Pyra for the Fire element and Poppi as a Tank. However, Brighid's appearance will introduce the possibility of switching Drivers in combat, which opens up significantly more options than previously.

Pandoria will be introduced as soon as Chapter 3 and will be formally joined your party along with her Driver Zeke.

Pandorias' appearance does not necessarily mean anything unique. She will be the second Attacker Blade and the first opportunity to acquire the Electric element, which gives you even more choices when it comes to combat teams.

During Chapter 6, Aegaeon will be acquired, though unlike other Rare Blades obtained in the story, he will come in his Core Crystal and must be activated in order to join your party.

Only Morag can use his Core Crystal, and it is an unusual situation where you can play the entire game without using Aegaeon if you do not want to. However, he makes a great addition to Morag's line-up and defensive abilities, giving her the Water element for Chain Attacks.

10.Nia

Nia will be revealed as a Blade during the chapters 7 and 7 where she will be obtained. However, she is capable of switching between being a Blade and a Driver during combat.

Nia is not a player in the game, but she is one of the game's best Healers. Her Blade abilities are not shared with her Driver persona, and she will develop her own Blade ability tree.

11.Pneuma

In Chapter 7, Pneuma will also be introduced, but she will only be accessible once per battle for a short period.

Pneuma will only be activated when Rex is in your team and you have a full Party Gauge. She cannot also equip any Aux Cores, develop her abilities, or increase her trust until her time runs out. However, she can access every single element for a Chain Attack, and Rex is unable to fall in battle.

Core Crystals Are Obtained From All Optional Rare Blades

Any Core Crystal will do for Core Crystal Blades (whether it is Common, Rare, or Legendary). However, Legendary Core Crystals have the worst chance of producing Rare Blades (Rare Core Crystals are in the middle).

Some Blades are grouped based on your save file, which makes their appearance more likely/less likely, with five groups in total. It doesnt make a significant difference in the long run (because probability doesnt mean certainty), and you will be able to obtain all of them with enough time.

The likelihood of a pity Blade showing up increases when you repeatedly fail to obtain a Rare Blade. The pity Blade counter will reset once you obtain a Rare Blade.

If you remove a Rare Blade from this list, it will be put back into the Core Crystal draws, but with significantly better chances of reappearing.

These Rare Blades have their own Core Crystal, which will guarantee their appearance once used.

When working with Vandham, Wulfric is encountered in Chapter 3 as part of the Elder Arachno boss fight. Other new Blades in the game were released after the introduction of New Game Plus in Version 1.3.0. With one exception, these Blades will only be available once you are able to obtain Core Crystals. They are also rare; not as rare as KOS-MOS, but their appearance rates are still low.
