The Banshees of Inisherin, Martin McDonagh's Oscar-nominated 2017 crime drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, will return to Ireland in the first trailer after a brief hiatus in the American heartland.
Colin Farrell plays Padraic, an affable and kind guy who lives on the fictional remote island of Inisherin, who is abruptly shaken by his once-close friend Colms (Brendan Gleeson)' decision to deny their friendship. Everything, from Padraic's sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon) to the town priest, is shocked by the revelations.
The film's tone should be familiar to anyone who has seen McDonagh's latest film, which is tragically dark and darkly humorous, brimming with colorful dialogue and succinctly memorable quips. Ben Davis and Carter Burwell return to the film's soundtrack for the third time.
The Banshees of Inisherin will be released in theaters on October 21.
