On Friday, MAPPA unveiled the new teaser for its upcoming Chainsaw Man anime, which will introduce the Japanese voice cast and announce that the series will premiere in October. Like for many other MAPPA anime in the past, Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 will be simulcast in the United States.

The trailer opens with a shot of Makima, one of the series' main characters flanked by two Devil hunters, as she enters a warehouse full of murdered corpses. The trailer continues with a series of shots of protagonist Denji, his fellow Devil hunters Aki Hayakawa and Power, and Makima going about their daily lives before progressing into a montage of a now-transformed Denji dodges attacks and smashing Devils with his chainsaw hands.

Tatsuki Fujimoto's critically acclaimed and ultra-violent action-horror manga, the series follows Denji, a teenage orphan living in a world filled with Devils, supernatural monsters born out of human fears.

Denji is forced to work as a Devil hunter in order to pay back the debt he owes his father. He is betrayed and left for dead, and Denji forms a contract with Pochita, combining the creature with his dying heart to become Chainsaw Man, a frighteningly powerful Devil-human hybrid who can summon chainsaws from his body.

The first part of the manga, the Public Safety arc, which ended on December 14, 2020, will be adaptable in the anime. New chapters are published every Tuesday and are available on Shonen Jump.
