Dylan O'Brien's absence will be addressed in the upcoming Teen Wolf reunion film ...

Fans of Teen Wolf are eagerly anticipating the upcoming reunion film, which will bring the characters back five years after the MTV series' conclusion.

Tyler Posey will reprise his role as Scott McCall, along with Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, and Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale.

Dylan O'Brien, who will not reprise his role as Stiles Stilinski, is one of the notable names absent.

Stiles may be gone, but he will certainly not be forgotten, as series creator Jeff Davis has stated that the film will not ignore his absence.

Davis said during a panel during San Diego Comic-Con that his actions aren't ignored, but we make references to it. And I think we can't make a film without paying tribute to Stiles.

"So he comes up in more than one situation." And there's a huge storyline with Lydia that the fans can look forward to in connection with their relationship. "I'm not going to elaborate much further."

Back in March, O'Brien explained why he decided not to return for the reunion film.

"It was a difficult decision. A lot of effort went into it," he said. "The program could not be more dear to me. It was the first thing I ever did, and so many people there are extremely close to me."

"We didn't know that it was happening, and they kind of threw it at us a little bit, which is fine because we all enjoy the program."

"Ultimately, I've decided that it was truly good for me and I'm still willing to keep it there. I wish them all the best and I'll see it the first night it comes out.

"I hope it kicks my ass, but I'm not going to be in it."

Arden Cho, who played Kira, will not be returning. It was reported that she rejected an offer that would have seen her earn less than her three other female co-stars in the Netflix series Partner Track. Later this month.

Davis has also recently stated that the reunion film would have a significant time jump revisiting the characters 20 years after the series ended.

On Paramount+, Teen Wolf: The Movie will be released later this year.
