The Banshees of Inisherin, Martin McDonagh's Oscar-nominated crime drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, returns to Ireland after a brief hiatus in the American heartland, in the first trailer.
Colin Farrell plays Padraic, an affable and kind man living on the fictional remote island of Inisherin, whose world is abruptly rocked by his once-close friend Colms (Brendan Gleeson), who has decided to cut their friendship short. Everyone from Padraic's sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon) to the town priest to inquire as to the origins of Colms' animosity.
The film's tone should be familiar to anyone who has seen McDonagh's previous work: tragically funny and darkly funny, bursting with colorful dialogue and succinctly memorable quips. Ben Davis and Carter Burwell return to contribute the cinematography and soundtrack for the film's third film.
The Banshees of Inisherin will be released in cinemas on October 21.
