After appearing on the program for over a decade, Lowry announced she would step down from the Teen Mom franchise in May 2022.

During the season 11 Teen Mom 2 reunion, which aired on May 24, the mother-of-four told fans about the news, according to Us Weekly.

I think I need to move on, she said in the episode, Us Weekly reports. I think I need to do my own thing. I think this should be my farewell message. I'm ready.

Lowry said her decision stemmed from shifting priorities in an exclusive interview with E! News the same month.

I want to focus on my self-growth and my children, and I didnt feel like the program matched with my current goals, she told the outlet. I decided it was time for me to move on.

Lowry teased her retirement from the franchise a month earlier in an episode of her podcast Barely Famous in April 2022, claiming that Perez Hilton makes more money from her podcasts than she makes from Teen Mom.

Kailyn Lowry Wants Her Own Show

Kail Lowry and Lindsie Chrisley have shared a post on coffeeconvospodcast.org.

Lowry mentioned that she would be interested in a Teen Mom spinoff focused solely on her life during her April interview with Perez Hilton.

She said that I feel like I have enough energy to do my own show. Unless they want to offer it to me or they want to work on something similar. I just don't know.

Why am I going to take a pay cut to do the same amount of work and also not be able to tell my story with full transparency? Despite what others may think, I want to do it.
