In 2022, here are the top vampire games on PC ...

Do you want to see the greatest PC vampire games?Being able to leap hugely, cut regular humans to shreds, invoke creepy magic abilities, and regenerate health by feasting on your foes should be a staple of all PC games, to be honest. It's all Christopher Lee's fault. Despite Bram Stoker, Max Schreck, and Stephenie Meyer's efforts to make them appear terrible, everybody wants to be a vampire.

We've travelled across a wide spectrum of genres and decades to present our picks for PCs top vampire games. So whether you like the power fantasy, roleplaying potential, or moral implications of being a vampire, we've got something for everyone.

Here are the top 15 PC vampire games:

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines

Bloodlines is one of the best PC games not just in the vampire games genre that fate and bad business decisions dealt a bad hand to. A rushed release date that put it out on the same day as Half-Life 2, a relatively unknown developer in Troika, and a list of bugs that would make a QA tester weep. Its unfinished, but its worth playing for one main reason its Deus Ex with vampires, which is a pitch that still makes us swoon.

After selecting one of the many clans that will alter how the game plays, you can go wandering through the dark streets of Los Angeles in search of souls to feed on, quests to complete, and to discover why the clans are at each others throats (a particularly bad thing for vampires). If youre a pleasant Toreador, youll be skulking through sewers in fear of anyone seeing you.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

So it's disappointing how few games from the Castlevania series have actually made it to PC. We'd like to see Symphony of the Night and the other 2D Metroidvania games on Steam before too long, but until then we're fortunate to have the best 3D Castlevania game that's also one of the finest action-adventure games ever made.

The first Lords of Shadow is an action-packed epic that combines God of War-style combat with exciting, adrenaline-packed sets-pieces. Players take on the role of Gabriel Belmont and use a crucifix-chain whip to defeat the evil forces. These are all abilities that are required for the sequel: Gabriel becomes Dracula.

Vampyr

Dontnod, the creator of Life is Strange, focuses on telling an emotional vampire tale combined with dark Souls-inspired combat. For a large chunk of the game, you're talking to the residents of London, discovering the cause of the epidemic in the city, and forging new relationships, while the rest of the time you're fighting vampire hunters and werewolves in the narrow streets.

Oh, and sometimes murdering a close friend. The coolest thing about Vampyr is in picking your victims. You could rely on rats to restore your health, never killing anyone, and be completely unpowered for every combat encounter. Or, you could prey on the folks wholl never be forgotten. Bring them to the healthiest, most hopeful, and most alive theyve ever been, and then exterminate their throats.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrim is fun to play because you can choose who you want to be: a melee-focused barbarian who can punch dragons to death? A mage who can blow apart giants with fireballs? Nah, you want to be an undead vampire lord of the damned, feasting on the Nords and only traveling by night. With great bonuses like being immune to illness and poison, Skyrim is the ultimate vampire RPG.

The Dawnguard expansion adds even more dimension to this fantasy: a legion of nosferatu called the Volkihar Clan, who are all looking for a vampire to fulfill an Elder Scroll prophecy, while being hunted by the titular Dawnguard vampire hunters. Even better, players may become a Dracula-like Vampire Lord with a new skill tree and a variety of new abilities such as moving super-fast or chasing an enemy toward you in Skyrim noSkyrim mods

Legacy of Kain: Defiance

The Legacy of Kain games are some of the most popular vampire games outside of the Castlevania series. Between 1997 and 2003, there were five titles released, and while the Soul Reaver games are enjoyable, we're sticking with the last game in the series for this list Legacy of Kain: Defiance, which was specifically created to combine all of the storylines.

Defiance achieves a remarkable balance of gameplay and gameplay, resulting in two totally different and equally enjoyable games. The characters are more varied than previous games, and the story is more action-packed, although there are still a few puzzles in the mix. So the Legacy of Kain series has gone on a roll in the last 15 years.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon

The Bloodstained games, produced by former Castlevania series producer Koji Igarashi, are probably our best bet in the absence of any great 2D Castlevania games on PC. Curse of the Moon is a modern NES game, with cool gameplay concepts and fantastic boss battles.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is a platform-action game that only has limited special weapons and lives, but it greatly improves the gameplay by having multiple player characters with different abilities. Zangetsu is tough but close-range only, Alfred has special abilities but a weak attack, and Gebel can swing upwards and become a bat, after all.

Bloodrayne Betrayal

Despite having a fantastic premise kickass vampire vs. Nazis, the 3D Bloodrayne games were never as good as they could have been. As it turns out, all they needed to make Bloodrayne good was to make it 2D and give it to WayForward's action platformers.

Bloodrayne Betrayal is a side-scrolling action game, but for those who prefer challenging games Betrayal is for you. It's never impossible though, as you can always suck an enemy's blood to restore his health. It's so satisfying to just stomp on a vampire's head.

Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption

Bloodlines is the game everyone associates with, but Redemption, the earlier title, isn't to be dismissed. Both games, for starters, are very different games. It's not as much about the combat as it is about strategically dealing with enemies and looking for all the loot you can carry.

The game evolves from a classic medieval hack-and-slash to a modern-day New York. It's still alive and well in Redemption, and it's one of the greatest old games on PC.

The Sims4 VAMPIRES

The Sims 3 expansion Supernatural has been developed in conjunction with the occult, though it took some time to get the game up to speed. Your house can be transformed into a true Castle Dracula gothic furnishings, secret passageways, sinister laboratories, and of course, a crypt for your undead family's coffins.

The Vampires expansion has gone all out, allowing you to live as a vampire right from the start. From the vampires' mysterious Dark Farm, they have different abilities that can be enhanced by winning duels against each other.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing

With this trilogy of adventures based on Bram Stokers Dracula, you play the most famous vampire hunter of all time: Van Helsing (although sadly not the one played by Hugh Jackman). Set in a darkened fantasy of 19th Century Europe, the Van Helsing games see the titular character son of the famous hunter from Bram Stokers novel continuing his father's quest by discovering and defeating monsters.

What we get are three actionRPGs that are hugely inspired by Diablo, yet still manage to get all the rewards from Blizzards hyper-addictive games. Fancy combat, engaging monsters, and always wanting to discover whats just around the corner. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is a fun alternative.

These are the best and most bloodthirsty vampire games lurking on PC. Whether it's killing locals down back-alleys, building the crypt of your dreams, or undertaking epic quests to purge Eastern European countries of the undead hordes, all of the best games have vampires in them. We hope weve settled the argument once and for all.
