The Devil Wears Prada musicals photos show the majority of the cast, the striking set design that recreates Runway magazines' headquarters on the stage, and the ultra-trendy costume design.
Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel was adapted by David Frankel for the New York Times bestseller list, and Meryl Streep portrayed Miranda Presley in an iconic performance, while Anne Hathaway played Miranda's assistant Nigel, while Emily Blunt played her other assistant Emily.
Anna D. Shapiro is the musical director of The Musical, which features songs by Elton John and lyrics by Shaina Taub. Talking about the music, Taub had these words to share with EW:
"To work with Elton John has been a wild dream come true. I've been moved by his deep joy for songwriting, as well as for how warmly he welcomed me into our collaboration," says the singer of Nigel's Act II solo about fashion and the importance of being seen.
"To work with Elton John in real time in the studio has been a wild dream come true." I've been most moved by his deep joy for songwriting, as well as for how warmly he welcomed me into our collaboration. It's Nigel's Act II solo about how fashion influenced his life growing up, and what it means to be seen. Elton's melody on that one always makes me emotional.
Andy and Emily are shown in one of the recent photographs released by Taylor Iman Jones and Megan Masako Haley, and besides their distinct differences in appearance, we can tell by their expressions that their relationship isn't on the simplest of terms.
Beth Leavel, who is bringing the fashion diva Miranda to life on the stage, plays Nigel Munoz, Christian Thompson as Christian, and Kayla Ward. Kevin McCollum served as producer for the musical.
The Devil Wears Prada musical will premiere on Sunday, August 7, at the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago.
