Today, the Misfits won their third game in a row, confirming their position in the playoffs ahead of the 2022 Summer Split regular season. They beat Astralis, the Misfits' nearest opponent in the playoffs, with a carefully crafted performance.
Due to several positive COVID-19 cases among Astralis players, the teams were looking good and appeared to have a clear strategy after the draft. Both Astralis and Misfits chose a scaling configuration over and over.

Misfits surprised League fans with an early gank in the top lane that secured the initial kill for them. And from that point on, Misfits never stopped being greedy, always striving for more. From the first Herald to the first tower, Misfits were on a roll and Astralis could not come up with a strategy to stop them.
Astralis fought on every occasion they could, attempting to reclaim their gold advantage by closing the gap with Misfits. But Misfits overpowered them with perfect team coordination and great positioning. While trying to take back control of their lanes, Astralis spotted Misfits heading towards the Baron pit. However, their opponents created an impenetrable area around the neutral objective, leading Astralis to grant the team buff to them.
Misfits sieged Astralis' base in a short time frame, defeating the top and mid inhibitors. However, Astralis' decision to break up and try to grab Misfits from behind worked out well.
Astralis started the match with a clear intention and strategy to win, which centered on giving as much resources as possible to their bot lane. But they never evolved and increased the duos' presence around the map. With this victory, the Misfits (8-6) will have to face the MAD Lions in their matchup tomorrow.
