Barcode, an Australian Halo star, will play for G2 Esports in the HCS NA Super sweep of Spacestation ...

Barcode, an Australian talent who has been rumored to be moving to a North American club, was able to debut for G2 Esports in the HCS NA Super this weekend. In a standout performance that saw G2 defeat Spacestation Gaming 3-0 in their first pool match.

The best-of-five series' three games were a closer call than the final series score might suggest, but G2 can be encouraged by the lineups' immediate potential and ability to close out tight games. Barcode was a major contributor to putting that potential on display in games one and two.

In Game 1, the Australian was the only player to beat Spacestations Ace and Suppressed in Capture The Flag. With seven more kills to his name, Barcodes performance proved crucial in a game that went to overtime and only finished with G2 winning a narrow 2-1. This is a worrying sign that Spacestations objective play requires some significant improvements.

In game two, Barcode scored a triple kill, topping his team once more with 15 kills overall in the game. Spacestation's struggles in the series were only exacerbated when they failed to recover in the third and final game.

Here are the final results from the Pool Ds match between G2 Esports and Spacestation Gaming:

  • Capture The Flag on Catalyst: 2-1 G2
  • Slayer on Streets: 50-42 G2
  • Oddball on Recharge: 2-0 G2

At the start of the Halo Infinites competitive season, Barcode and G2 will not be able to maintain the same level of dominance in the Australian market. However, the greater opportunities and rewards for Barcodes talents are far more valuable to his home country than they were ever.

G2 will continue to compete in the HCS NA Super this weekend as they aim to top Pool D and clinch a spot at the top of North America with a refreshed roster.
