Will Pokemon Go have a battle pass? ...

The game community is in turmoil about the possible addition of battle passes to the game thanks to a recent tweet from reliable Pokemon Go data-mining service PokeMiners. Many people are concerned that a battle pass system might be implemented sometime in the future.

Is Pokemon Go ever going to have a battle pass? Has it ever had one in the past? Were you interested in learning more about what Pokemon Go might be like?

A new item, the 'Battle Pass Ticket,' has been added!

Go Battle League battle pass

Pokemon Go has previously adopted a battle pass system, but only in the Go Battle League, its player-vs-player mode. Players may choose to try out other real-life trainers and earn points for all the battles they win. Both packs included free items and bonuses for reaching certain milestones.

Pokemon Go has the only battle pass system ever. Niantic has yet to make an official announcement about the data mine or the new item, but data-mined items can end up in the game, so there might be a battle pass in the main game sometime in the future.

Some players are interested in a potential battle pass, because it might make it easier for dedicated players to earn rare and difficult-to-achieve rewards. Others are concerned about Niantics' increasing amount of monetization in the game and fear that it might be another nickel-and-dimes strategy.

Update this article if Niantic updates players on future battle pass plans.
