Guilty Gear Strive was one of Arc System Works' most popular games of the year, with the developer tapping on its popularity with plenty of post-launch support and content. Earlier this year, the rest of Guilty Gear Strive's first season pass had been released, adding two returning favorites to the game.
Arc System Works confirmed a number of things shortly after Testament was added to the first season pass. One of these was a story expansion, known as Guilty Gear Strive's Another Story, that focused on non-traditional characters, such as Baiken, May, and Ramlethal Valentine. A second season pass was also announced roughly around the same time at the premiere fighting game tournament EVO.
Guilty Gear Strive's second season pass will begin with a new character in Summer 2022, although no specific date has been listed. At the same time, the PS5 and PC versions of the game will receive some updates, while the Steam version will reduce the connection time for initial server connections.
Guilty Gear Strive will be updated in Fall 2022, with a new DLC character expected during this time. A worldwide crossplay beta test for all versions of the game is scheduled for mid-September, with further information on how to join these sessions to be announced at a later date.
The Winter period will include a significant battle balance patch for the game, although it does not specify anything specific. In 2023, since Guilty Gear Strive's second season pass will have only four characters, the last two will be released during this year. An additional stage will also be added per character.
Guilty Gear Strive is now available on PC, PS4, and PS5.
