How to Get Kibble in RimWorld

How to Get Kibble in RimWorld ...

RimWorld challenges players to transform a group of stranded colonists on a distant world into a safe, stable, and flourishing colony. Along the way, they'll confront challenges ranging from hunger and pirate raids to disease and insect invasions.

In RimWorld, taming and raising animals can be very beneficial, providing meat, milk, wool, and protection to colonists. However, feeding pets or farm animals can be problematic and a waste of resources. For carnivores or animals in biomes where grazing isn't an option, the best way to feed animals is with Kibble.

How to Get Kibble in RimWorld

Kibble is RimWorld's generic animal feed and has several advantages over Meals. Firstly, Kibble can be made very easily with only a Butcher Spot, although a Butcher Table will produce more.

Kibble is non-existent for a colonist, though they will earn Cooking XP with every batch. Kibble is possible with the most basic of ingredients, requiring only one vegetable item and one animal product for each batch.

Players with Kibble have more choices when it comes to ingredients than when making Meals for colonists. Haygrass can be used as the vegetable ingredient in Kibble, a fast-growing and plentiful crop that is inedible to humans.

Likewise, it is legal to use human or insect meat as an animal product ingredient. Although colonists face a significant fine to Mood in RimWorld for eating human or insect meat, animals face no such consequence.

When to Use Kibble in RimWorld

Kibble is a wonderful resource for any colony that has animals to feed, especially if they're meat eaters. Kibble isn't spoilable, so there's no need to refrigerate or preserve it like most foods and Herbal Medicine in RimWorld.

It's also very quick to make and there's no risk that a bad cook will accidentally poison it, so it's suitable for training a novice chef.

RimWorld requires not only a competent Animals expert, but also small quantities of food as a temptation and reward. Kibble is one of the finest foodstuffs for this purpose as, unlike raw meat or vegetables, it is an acceptable food for all animals.

Kibble may be used in the most extreme cases to satisfy colonists' desire for food, but it should only be used in the most extreme situations. Not only will colonists suffer a significant Mood debuff from eating Kibble, but they will suffer an additional debuff if the product was made with human or insect meat.

RimWorld is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
