Teaser for Purple Hearts will follow.

As the official music video for Sofia Carson's new Netflix film, Purple Hearts, is released, it explains a "particularly moving" song.

The Descendants star takes on the role of aspiring singer-songwriter Cassie, while Nicholas Galitzine plays troubled marine Luke, and the unlikely couple is pushed together against the odds.

Carson arranged several songs for the soundtrack, but says 'Come Back Home' is a standout because it comes at a so "pivotal" time in the narrative.

"'Come Back Home' was a huge challenge for us and particularly heartbreaking because it's set at a time in the film that's so important to our narrative and our characters, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Cassie says everything that she's been too afraid to say to him in those three words.

Cassie and Luke are reunited at the beach while 'Come Back Home' is playing, and that's exactly where the newly released music video for the song picks up.

"We wanted to make it that much more special by making it a performance video rather than a classic music video," Carson continued.

"It's me performing 'Come Back Home' on the piano, and it's actually set at the same beach that Luke and I finish the film on, which makes it that much more beautiful and true to our story."

"I hope it moves anyone who gets the chance to see it," she said.

Purple Hearts is now available to stream on Netflix.
