Captain Marvel's No Time To Die star lands the next movie role in Bob Marley's biopic ...

Lashana Lynch, star of No Time To Die, has been selected to play Bob Marley's wife Rita in an upcoming biopic.

Lynch will play Kingsley Ben-Adir, an iconic reggae singer. According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures went through a rigorous search for the role, similar to the casting process for Ben-Adir.

Before accepting the role, the Captain Marvel actor had to pass several screen tests and chemistry testing.

Lynch fought to win over not only Paramount, but also Rita Marley's real life children, Ziggy and Cedella, who are also involved in the film's creation.

Lynch had a great year in terms of acting, as she was praised for her role as Nomi in the most recent James Bond film No Time To Die. The actor recently indicated that she would be willing to reprise the role in the future if the opportunity arises.

"I would," she said before adding: "I don't know if it's happening, by the way."

"I've had a great time working with [producers] Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G Wilson] and the entire team there."

"And I think that [Nomi] is a character that you just can't get enough of. You know, you're drawn to that kind of friendship. So I look forward to meeting my friend again."

Lynch will next appear in Netflix's adaptation of Matilda, which will play Mrs Honey.
