Willow Smith Responds To Chris Rock's Oscar Slap Incident With Father Will Smith

Willow Smith Responds To Chris Rock's Oscar Slap Incident With Father Will Smith ...

Will Smith comes on stage to slap Chris Rock in the 94th Academy Awards, which included films like Dune, CODA, and The Power of the Dog, but it's always been the most-talked about this year's Oscars moment. Earlier this week, Smith apologized to both Rock and the SNL alumni's mother, as well as explaining why he didn't apologize to Rock during his Best Actor acceptance speech.

Will Smith apologized to Chris Rock during his Best Documentary Feature appearance. Willow Smith stated that her writing did not harmed her or her inner turmoil as much as her own internal struggles.

I consider my whole family to be human, and I love and accept them for all of their humanity. Because of the position we were placed in, our humanity sometimes isn't accepted, and we were expected to behave in a manner that isn't conducive to a healthy life and isn't conducive to being honest.

Willow Smith has been in the public eye for most of her life, initially for simply being Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith's daughter, but now for her singing career and a handful of acting roles. She explained that she understands Will Smith isnt perfect, but that she still loves him, despite his shortcomings and, in this instance, his less-than-stellar actions.

Willow Smith went on social media to express her feelings to followers about how everyone is going through a lot right now, and she advised people to be gentle. This was thought to be a response to the incident, but now we have the above video clearly stating out her feelings about what happened. She said she wishes her husband and rock had an opportunity to heal, talk this out, and reconcile.

Will Smith resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the beginning of April, and a week later, the organization banned him from attending the Oscars or any Academy-related event for the next ten years. As for Rock, he reportedly responded to the apology through his comedy act, and an unnamed source claims that he has no interest in speaking up for the Men in Black star more than the creator of Everybody Hates Chris.
