Atlanta FaZe defeats Seattle Surge in round 11 fashion and advances to the winners' finals in the 20 ...

After defeating the Seattle Surge in a hugely entertaining series in 3-2 fashion, the Atlanta FaZe are just one series away from competing in the Call of Duty League Championships grand final for the third season in a row.

Mack made huge plays to save Atlanta from closing out the map, picking up two crucial kills and forcing the map to another hill. Pred, who was named 2022 CDL rookie of the year earlier in the day, collected four consecutive kills to keep FaZe off the hill for the last few seconds needed.

Just keep an eye on this pic.

The Surge's map victory was impressive, but the defending CDL champions are remarkable at surviving adversity. Atlanta won a 3-1 victory over Berlin Hardpoint to even the series at one map apiece.

FaZe hoped to put their heartbreaking defeat in the first map behind them in the second Hardpoint of the series heading to Berlin. But the Surge went massive yet again, picking up crucial kills in the second hill. Each member of Seattle picked off all four Atlanta players to win the map 250-244.

We were assuming over both Hardpoints, but there was a little confusion towards the end. Mack was superb for his team, and Arcitys, who posted a 1.14 K/D over the series five maps, said after the match. But mistakes happen. It's Vanguard, shit happens.

Atlanta's Hardpoint issues might be a concern, but their ability to win Search and Destroy and Control maps will be vital for them moving forward. With the slaying abilities of Cellium and aBeZy and the cerebral gameplay of Simp and Arcitys, it's only a matter of time before Atlanta returns to their dominant ways in Hardpoint.

Tomorrow at 3:30pm CT, Atlanta will face the winner of tonight's OpTic Texas vs. Los Angeles Thieves match for a chance to compete in the CoD Champs 2022 grand finals. Seattle will go down to the elimination bracket and will face the Toronto Ultra tomorrow at 12:30pm CT.
