Matt Smith of Doctor Who believes he may be "too old" to return to the role ...

Matt Smith, who plays Bill Murray in popular Doctor Who film, has revealed that he believes he is "too old" to reprise his role.

In an interview with Rolling Stone UK, where he was promoting his Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, he discussed his thoughts on returning to the show.

"Maybe, if it was the correct script." I'm not sure if I've gotten too old now. It would have to be great, he said.

"What a Doctor, what an actor, what a bloke," says David Tennant, "Arguably David is a totally seminal Doctor."

"Yeah. Can you imagine?" he said of Tennant's willingness to accept the role of former Doctor when he stepped in to fill the role. He was kind to me, David, throughout the transition. He's just a good guy."

Matt Smith is set to play Daemon Targaryen in the House of the Dragon. He was surprised by the amount of sex scenes he had to perform.

House of the Dragon is said to have resisted including bedroom scenes. Not enough, apparently, because it still irritated the actor.

"I guess you have to ask yourself, 'Do we need another sex scene?' he told Rolling Stone. "I guess you have to ask yourself: 'What are you doing? Are you rewriting the books in order to represent the period [we're living in]?' And I actually think it's your responsibility to portray the books truthfully and honestly.

"Yeah, if you ask me, I'll have a lot of those moments on the show," he joked.

Seasons 1-8 of Game of Thrones are available on DVD and Blu-ray. House of the Dragon, a spin-off, will premiere on August 21, 2022 in the United Kingdom.

Doctor Who's next special will air in October 2022 on BBC One in the United Kingdom. In the United States, the program will air on BBC America, with series 1-12 available on HBO Max.
