The Banshees of Inisherin, Martin McDonagh's Oscar-nominated 2017 crime drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, returns to Ireland after a brief hiatus in the American heartland, in its first trailer.
Colin Farrell plays Padraic, an affable and kind man who lives on the fictional remote island of Inisherin, who is abruptly shaken by his once-close friend Colms (Brendan Gleeson) choice to sever their friendship, sending shockwaves throughout the close-knit community, prompting everyone from Padraic's sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon) to the town priest to investigate the source of Colms' animosity.
Any fan of McDonagh's latest film should be familiar with the tone: tragically funny and darkly funny, bursting with colorful dialogue and succinctly memorable quips. Ben Davis and Carter Burwell return to contribute the soundtrack for the film.
The Banshees of Inisherin will be released in theaters on October 21.
