Solo received a suspended sentence of 24 months and an active sentence of 30 days as a result of time spent at an inpatient rehabilitation facility, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

Solo has been ordered to pay $2,500 in fines and a $600 fee for the lab tests, as well as undergo a substance abuse assessment, and complete all recommended treatment.

Solo, who gave up her driver's license, had the other two charges, misdemeanor child abuse and resisting a public officer, dismissed voluntarily.

Judge Roemer said she will not have to serve the 24 months in jail if Solo paid the fines and completed the other sentencing items.

After her court appearance, Solo posted a statement on Instagram.

Im slowly returning from maternity leave after a long journey. She writes that I am incredibly proud of myself in motherhood and what my husband and I have done day in and day out throughout the epidemic with two-year-old twins.

Despite my pride, it was incredibly difficult to do so, and I made a huge error. It was easily the worst mistake of my life. She continued to tell me how destructive my life had become.

Solo continued to thank her husband and her pals for their help during this difficult time in her life. She thanked her lawyers.

The advantage of making a mistake that big is that difficult lessons are learned quickly. She wrote that learning these lessons has been difficult and at times, quite painful.

With her kids, the two-time Olympic gold medalist celebrated her 41st birthday on July 30, 2022.

Solo captioned a photo with her children playing on a beach as she is 41 years old.
