A fan video from the FXIV season pays tribute to the creator of the iconic LOTR meme ...

After the creator of the most iconic and popular Lord of the Rings memes, a new FFXIV fan video was published on the Albino Blacksheep website in August 2005.

The original video recreates several scenes from the second Lord of the Rings film, The Two Towers, into an unreasonably catchy dance anthem. As the title suggests, it focuses on Orlando Blooms character Legolas saying, Theyre taking the Hobbits to Isengard! The two-minute video gained enormous popularity online, reaching the point where LOTR director Peter Jackson posted a video on his Facebook page of Bloom singing along to the track.

Plam & Switch, the makers of Final Fantasy XIV, have created a new video, reimagining the song as Theyre taking the Lalas to Garlemald, as well as a few minor Endwalker snippets.

Beekveld, the original creator of memes, died at the age of 52 after a battle with lung cancer. Along with his most well-known works, he also created many remixes of familiar Commodore 64 themes. Its refreshing to see, then, that his legacy is still bringing people across the Internet joy seventeen years later.

Here's the complete video (again, no spoiler warnings about light location and character):

Live Letter 72 is scheduled for August 12 in Eorzea, with several pictures of the fantasy games' upcoming 6.2 update and possibly an early release for the FFXIV Island Sanctuary feature, which transforms the MMO into a farming game. In the meantime, the FFXIV Moonfire Faire 2022 event is scheduled until the next expansion launches.
