Jeffrey Dean Morgan took over as Negan, Season 6's main antagonist who committed some of the most horrific crimes in the show's history, long after his days on Supernatural.
Negan has become more redeemable in recent seasons, revealing his darker sides and always intervening to save the lives of the beloved group. Regardless of whether it's in a ruthless tone or a moment of wisdom, Negan has always been known for having some of the best narrations.
"Sucks, doesn't it?The Moment You Realize You Don't Know Sh*t."
Negan's vocabulary probably includes the most words, particularly in the early days of his arrival to Alexandria. Sometimes it's used in a wise guy way, and sometimes it's combined with some recitation.
Negan looks down at Rick with his signature smirk during the Season 6 finale titled "Last Day on Earth." He then says, "Sucks, don't it? The moment you realize you don't know shit."
"I'm never sure what eye I'm supposed to look at."
Negan has developed a habit of innocently mocking the group for things like their ailments or their appearance. He would often ridicule them for their apocalypse-related injuries, whether in a demeaning or humorous manner.
Negan ignores Gabriel's pleas and responds, "I'm sorry, I don't know which eye I'm supposed to look at in this Season 9 episode."
"It's Gonna Be Pee-Pee Pants City Here Real Soon!"
Morgan offered up a lot of Negan-isms in "Last Day on Earth," including this hilarious line following a mention of the group "pissing their pants" at what Negan has planned for them.
Negan exclaims, "We've been pissing our pants yet? h boy, do I have a feeling we're coming closer. It's gonna be pee-pee pants city here real soon!" In his usual dry-wit tone, Negan replies, "Which one of you pricks is thee leader."
"No one ever believes that they are the Evil One."
Negan never fails to overlook many unforgivable acts, as he demonstrated in Season 9 episode "The Storm," when he finally addressed something that both characters and viewers have considered for a long time.
Negan said to Michonne, saying, "No one ever believes that they are the evil one." It's true for both Negan and Rick's group, who believed they were entitled to do what they did. For Rick's group to kill The Saviors and for Negan to retaliate by killing two of Rick's people.
"Lucille Is Thirsty...She Is A Vampire Bat!"
The Season 7 premiere, titled "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be," picked up right where the Season 6 finale left off - the group fell to their knees with a Lucille-clad Negan standing before them, ready to take their revenge. However, Negan managed to make a joke.
Negan formed himself, turning to the group and quipping, "Lucille is thirsty... she is a vampire bat!"
"Is That You, Rick?Underneath All That Man Bush?Sh*t, I would not have messed with that guy!"
Negan has always been a source of trauma and comedy on The Walking Dead, delighting viewers one second and fear for their favorite characters' lives the next. When he travels to Alexandria, Negan is the perfect example of this.
Negan manages to both chuckle and lash out at Deanna, saying, "Is that you, Rick? Underneath all that man bush?" Sh*t, I would not have messed with that guy!
"You Have The Same Damn Stink Eye As Your Dad - Except It's Only Half As Good, Because You Know, You're Missing One Eye."
Negan had the most interesting connection with everyone in Rick's group, whether it was because Carl was a kid or because he never got scared of Negan, there was a certain aspect about Rick's son that Negan always respected.
Negan's insults were not uncommon in Season 7 episode "Sing Me A Song," where he pokes fun at Carl, saying, "You do the same damn stink eye as your dad - except it's only half as good, because, you know, you're missing one eye."
"I'm not the only one to notice that you have a fat lady in charge of keeping track of rations, can I?"
It's quite problematic for TV programs and movies to make a person's weight the focus of jokes, but back during Season 7 of The Walking Dead, it was no surprise that Negan, of all people, did exactly that.
Negan said an almost word-for-word sentence from his comic book counterpart: "I can't imagine being the only one to notice that you got a fat lady in charge of keeping track of rations."
"I Thought We Were We Going To Have A Moment, You Little A**hole!"
Negan still had his moments of enragement with the teen, including an exciting moment from Season 8 episode "How It's Gotta Be," which left Negan saying one of the greatest lines in the character's history.
Carl attempts a heart-to-heart conversation while removing Negan from the Alexandrians' escape, but Negan replies, "I thought we were having a moment!"
