Roseanna Christiansen, the original Dallas series character Teresa of the Ewing family, has died. She was 71 years old.

According to Steven Rizzo, the actress died on July 14 in Lancaster, Calif., and no cause of death has been established.

Christiansen (right in the photo above) joined Dallas in 1982 during the show's sixth season. She recurred as Teresa in 112 episodes until the show's final season, Season 14, which ended in 1991.

In 1981, Christiansen played another maid character on three episodes of The Jeffersons. Following the departure of Marla Gibbs Florence, she left the program to star in her own spinoff, Checking In. She later returned to her previous position at the Jefferson household.

Matlock, CBS Summer Playhouse, andA Year in the Life are some of Christiansens' other TV credits. She also appeared in the TV series This Is Kate Bennett, and Temporary Insanity, in 1982 and 1985.

She was an ordained minister and an acting coach, and she spent her career guiding tens of thousands of students in the industry.
