On Friday, MAPPA released the new teaser for its upcoming Chainsaw Man anime, which will include the series' Japanese voice cast and will launch in October, as it has done for many other MAPPA anime in the past, including Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2.
The trailer opens with a photo of Makima, one of the series' main characters, flanked by two Devil hunters, as she enters a warehouse full of mutilated bodies, before escalating into a montage of a now-transformed Denji dodges attacks and dissecting Devils with his chainsaw hands.
Denji, a teen orphan living in a world populated by Devils, supernatural monsters born out of human fears, is followed by Tatsuki Fujimoto's critically acclaimed and ultra-violent action horror manga.
Denji is forced to work as a Devil hunter to pay back the debt incurred by his father's absence. Denji contracts with Pochita, fusing the creature with his dying heart to become Chainsaw Man, a frighteningly powerful Devil-human hybrid who can wield chainsaws from his body.
The first part of the manga, the Public Safety arc, which ended on December 14, 2020, will be adaptated by the anime. New chapters will be published every Tuesday and available on Shonen Jump.
