The Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Update Makes Online Play a Huge Improvement

The Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Update Makes Online Play a Huge Improvement ...

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was released in 2013 and was the winning fighting game that Persona fans wanted for a long time, not only for Persona 4 and Persona 4 Arena, but also for PC, PS4, and Switch. However, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax lacks some of the modern fighting games' features, as an older game. That's all about to change.

Members of the Arc System Works development team and Atlus took the stage to announce the rollback of a new feature that helps to make EVO 2022 a much smoother competitive experience for both players.

Unfortunately, there is a catch: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will not be available on every platform. Atlus has confirmed that only the PC and PS4 will have access to the rollback netcode update. This isn't a surprise, though. When Atlus promised the rollback netcode upgrade earlier in 2022, it stated that it would only be available on PC and PS4.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax's PC rollback netcode update isn't yet available on PS4, however, it is fully accessible, although players will need to go to the game's properties, find the betas second of the menu, and enter the code "p4auopenbeta03."

Rollback netcode is no longer expected from fighting games released anymore. It's strange that the 2022 versions of the game included rollback netcode at the start, but that's likely why Atlus felt the need to announce it prior to the ports.

The release of the Persona 4 Arena Ultimax versions on PC and PS4, as well as the rollback of the netcode update, should ensure that the fighting game remains viable for years to come. Or, at least, until Atlus is able to create a sequel to the series, which fans are eagerly awaited.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Switch.
