The Sanderson sisters, Mary (Kathy Najimy), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and Winifred (Bette Midler) apper will grace the cover of this month's D23 magazine to commemorate the release of the upcoming Hocus Pocus 2.
The first of two covers shows the witchy trio staring at the moon, their backs facing the camera, and their signature cloaks reverberating as the caption states, "We're back, witches!" The other one shows them in the midst of a musical performance.
Hocus Pocus 2 is a sequel to the popular 1993 film and is directed by Anne Fletcher and a script by Jen D'Angelo. The Sanderson sisters will return as three young women accidentally bring them to today's Salem. Now the three girls must figure out a way to prevent the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world.
Kathy, especially, acted as the keeper of the Black Flame Candle, according to the publication. We sort of listened to her lead.
The film, which was released in phases, received mixed reviews, but its ongoing broadcast on television throughout the Halloween season made it a cult classic. As a youngster, Max (Omri Katz) accidentally lights up the cursed Candle of Black Flame, must rescue his sister Dani (Thora Birch) with the help of his crush Allison (Vinessa Shaw) and a black cat named Thackery Binx, the three sisters were resurrected after 300 years.
Hocus Pocus 2 features Whitney Peak as Becca, Lilia Buckingham as Cassie Traske, Belissa Escobedo as Izzy, and Hannah Waddingham as The Witch, among others.
On Disney+, Hocus Pocus 2 will be released on September 30, but be sure to check out the new trailer and synopsis here:
