The MAD Lions are the first team to qualify for the LEC 2022 Summer playoffs ...

With only one week left to play on the schedule, the LEC summer playoffs race is one of the toughest in European league history. Today, the MAD Lions became the first team in the league to qualify for a playoff spot.

Except for Team BDS, each league team is in the hunt for a playoff spot in the final weekend of the Summer Split.

The MAD Lions are currently in first place in the league, but that might change next week, as eight teams (including the MAD Lions) are in contention for the top seed in the LEC playoffs with three games left to play. SK Gaming is the only playoff-eligible team that has barely held off playoff chances with a 6-9.

Although the MAD Lions have clinched a playoff spot and are currently in the first place in the LEC, their position in the standings isn't set in stone. If they lose all three of their final games, they might fall as low as the sixth position on the LEC table.

MAD Lions won the LEC Summer Split after finishing the regular season in third place. This year, the team will have a chance to secure the first seed in the playoffs. First, theyll have to pass G2 Esports, Astralis, and Team BDS, all of whom they will play next week. If the season ends today, the team would face Rogue in the first round of the playoffs.
