Michael Shannon has dipped his toes into the superhero genre a few times, most notable being in Henry Cavill's first Superman film, Man of Steel. Initially, many DC fans loved him as the rogue Kryptonian general, but after that film, there was a chance for Shannon to join the Marvel cast, according to a Bullet Train producer.
While being interviewed by Indiewire, Bullet Train producer Kelly McCormick discussed the Knives Out actor's desire to join the Marvel universe to play a pivotal role. Shannon came close to playing antihero Cable in Deadpool 2 before Josh Brolin landed the role:
Josh [Brolin] was incredible as Cable, and then there was some sort of hiccup conflict at the very last minute, and then we just ended up reconnecting on this one, and felt really blessed that this was the role for him. I can't imagine [what that would have been like].
Brolin is a professional wrestler who was cast alongside Mike Shannon in Man of Steel. However, he isn't sure whether or not he will reprise his role as Cable on the big screen.
Michael Shannon is expected to reprise his role as General Zod in The Flash alongside Ezra Miller and Batman actors Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, years after moviegoers last saw the former Kryptonians corpse in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Theres Brad Pitts famous and insane Deadpool 2 comeo in which he played The Vanisher, who was electrocuted while trying to help the mouthy mercenary as an X-Force member. Lively could not help but make an iconic quip about Reynolds not inviting her to set when the Oscar winner shot his scene.
