Brad Pitt has been recognized for starring in many films throughout his career, including some that involve action. Nazis, zombies, and animated supervillains have all been defeated by the actor, and here are a few of Brad Pitt's best action films, including where you can find them. The Ocean's Elevenis is not technically an action film, but it remains one of Pitt's most exciting films, and deserves an honorable mention.
The first film on this list is based on Homer's epic poem, the Iliad, and is directed by Wolfgang Peterson, who has directed such classics as Das Boot and Air Force One. It's still a fun experience for fans of Pitt.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)
Many believe this movie was the catalyst that resulted in Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie being struck up. It's true that this film revolves around a married couple who decide that they're skilled assassins working for competing agencies and must now kill each other. However, the very good humor and excellent directorial make this film worthwhile.
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Inglorious Basterds, directed by Quentin Tarantino, is not only one of Brad Pitt's finest performances in an action film, but also one of the actor's finest performances overall. From his first scene onward, Pitt captures the audience's attention with his charm and charisma as Lieutenant Aldo Raine, the steadfast leader of a Jewish-American guerrilla force. Not to mention what he accomplishes at the end, too.
Brad Pitt does a fantastic job as a superman in a superhero film that happens to be animated. Ferrell, however, realizes that he does not want to be a bad guy. He even juggles babies and tosses them back to his parents.
World War Z (2013)
Brad Pitt plays Gerry Lane, a former United Nations worker who is sent to investigate a zombie outbreak that is destroying the world. Plus, Gerry is up against zombies who move very fast and in groups. It was hoped that a sequel would be directed by Pitt's frequent collaborator, David Fincher.
Brad Pitt's Fury is a film about a hardened tank commander named Don "Wardaddy" Collier who takes his troops into the heart of Germany near the end of World War II. Therefore, Wardaddy tries to educate Norman about the horrors of war and why he should kill every Nazi soldier he encounters. These actions are too horrifying to describe, and you'll have to find them out for yourself.
The Lost City (2022)
Brad Pitt doesn't appear in The Lost City for very long, but he certainly makes the most of his time there. Abigail Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe) kidnaps Loretta Sage because he believes she can lead him to a hidden treasure that she revealed in her last book. The latter is what Loretta wants to be, and it makes for some entertaining performances.
