Today, the Los Angeles Thieves qualified for the 2022 Call of Duty Championship final after defeating the Atlanta FaZe.
After winning a trophy at the Stage 4 Major in New York, the L.A. Thieves entered Champs hoping to replicate the form they had last year at the same venue when they won the league's largest prize during the Cold War. However, Atlanta FaZe has now lost three games to the Thieves.
Tuscan Hardpoint was as back-and-forth in previous matches as it was all day. While Atlanta walked away with the opening map win 250-209, it wasnt always in their favor. The Thieves came out strong early on to rack up the points, but lost key rotations which cost them the map. Vanguard regular season MVP Cellium tied his teammate aBeZy with the most kills in the lobby, and walked away with a 1.94 K/D.
The Thieves of Los Angeles fought back 6-4 in a match that was not as close as the score implies. Envoy was the hero of the match this time around, scoring ten kills and seven deaths for a 1.43 K/D.
Control, Hardpoint, and Search and Destroy are the final three maps of the series, but the series would not need to go to a game five. After a brilliant Control where they stuffed FaZes advances, the Thieves went 3-0 on the map and up 2-1 in the series. With the momentum now growing, and the crowd on their side, they went into the Hardpoint out for blood.

Atlanta is still alive and well in the competition, as they'll drop to the lower bracket and try to reach the final from there. However, L.A. will be waiting for them there.
